The Chairman, Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has out of his magnanimity and benevolence harkened to the the cries of Ugwueke people who called on him to assist them checkmate the annual flooding and submerging of their farm lands.\u00a0<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
This he executed by commencing the construction of a link road and culverts through their farm bush track that will connect the Ugwueke people of Abia State to Mile-2 Afikpo road, Isiagu, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.\u00a0<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
The road whuch passes through their farm lands will bring relief to the farmers\/people, increased mechanised agriculture\/produce, and ease transportation and evacuation of farm produce to urban areas.\u00a0<\/div>
The road which measures over 8km has started with initial clearing of the bush tracks, widening of road and construction of culverts and channeling of streams for easy flow of water. A total of eight(8) solid \u00a0culverts have been completed, and the road construction on going.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
It is worthy of note that the road construction is not part of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu constituency project rather the road is being handled by the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, a non-governmenal organisation, registered with the Nigeria Corporate Affairs Commission in 2011 and granted a Consultative Status in July, 2016 by the ECOSOC Department, United Nations. Interacting with newsmen, the Executive Secretary of Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation Rev. Mrs. Jemimah Ola Kalu said that efforts are being made to ensure that the road construction passes through Ugwueke farm lands before the heavy rains set in to enable the people of ugwueke to farm their land with ease.\u00a0<\/div>

She further said \u00a0that Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu’s love and passion for agriculture and \u00a0endeared him to the people, hence his personally bankrolling this road project. \u00a0Moreover, sustainsble agricultural development and eradication of poverty is one of the key thematic areas of Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation in line with 2030 SDGs.<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
